The Billings Gazette delivers the good news that legendary paleontologist Jack Horner is working together with Steven Spielberg on Jurassic Park IV. The trade reports;

Horner worked closely with director Steven Spielberg as a technical adviser on the "Jurassic Park" movies. He told the youths, much to their delight, hat he is working with Spielberg on "Jurassic Park IV". He was tight-lipped about the plot but offered up one tidbit of information: "If you like velociraptors, you will love Jurassic Park Four," Horner said to his exuberant audience.

The Velociraptors definitely were a huge factor that made the first film great, we're looking forward to more of them! Thanks to 'Oviraptor' for the heads up.

Fox Searchlight has picked up the comedy pitch El Romantico from Emmy-winning writer Matt Piedmont with comedian Chris Kattan attached to star.

"Romantico" will see Kattan play a young man neglected by his parents. Through the teachings of his Mexican nanny -- who is obsessed with soap operas and swashbucklers -- he comes to believe that he is the modern-day Don Juan searching for his one and only true love.

The project reunites Piedmont and Kattan, who worked together on Saturday Night Live.

He's succeeded in becoming engaged to two different girls, simultaneously, while in love with a third, Liz (Julie Christie). He's in hot water with his employer, having spent a rather large sum of postage money on his personal frivolities. And last, but not least, his dream of becoming a highly-paid, famous scriptwriter in London seems doomed to failure. The only person in his life capable of bringing him down to earth is Liz, and she's having a difficult time of it. Finally, he gets his life sufficiently in order to leave for London with his true love. Billy still hasn't come to grips with the real world by the end of the film. He leaves the train to buy milk from a vending machine and watches the train slowly pull out for London with Liz aboard. He returns to the more comfortable shelter of his parents home, Ambrosia and his imagination.

Included are the song "In My Head" by Pale 3, which plays in the Merovingian's Hell Club (3:46), two cues that feature Don Davis' collaboration with Juno Reactor, a 9 minute end credit re-mix of Don Davis' "Super Burly Brawl" music by Juno Reactor, and 45 minutes of orchestral underscore by Don Davis.

Apparently no rock bands were inspired by this movie.

Garner and Garces Do a Cheer

Kelli Garner and Paula Garces will play two cheerleaders in Revolution Studios' comedy Cheer Up, starring Tommy Lee Jones. The film features a hard-edged FBI agent who is forced to go undercover as an assistant cheerleading coach after a group of cheerleaders witness a murder.

Garner and Garces will play Barb and Therese, two of the cheerleaders protected by Jones. The movie starts filming in Austin, Texas this October, with Stephen Herek at the helm. Rob Ramsey and Matt Stone, who wrote Universal's Intolerable Cruelty, and John J. McLaughlin and Scott Lobdell penned the script.

Garner is wrapping Martin Scorsese's The Aviator and Good Machine's Thumbsucker. Garces recently appeared in Paramount's Marci X. She will next star in the New Line comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

Bean attempts to cheer up the director's son Stepan as the train continues south but matters are made more hectic by the fact that Emil has reported his son to have been kidnapped and Bean losing his wallet and essential travel documents at a pay phone where he and Stepan attempt to contact Emil. Heading in the direction of Cannes, Bean finds himself in the cast and disrupting the flow of a commercial being shot by the egotistical director Carson Clay. He and Stepan finally hitch a ride with the young and vivacious actress Sabine who is heading to Cannes to attend the premiere of Clay's film, in which she appears. After Bean sneaks into the showing, his camcorder images are destined to enliven the proceedings.

Paul Schrader Dumped from Exorcist: The Beginning

Gossip column Page Six writes that director Paul Schrader has been unceremoniously dumped from The Exorcist: The Beginning because he didn't put in enough blood, guts and vomit. Schrader was hired last year to direct the horror movie by Morgan Creek Films, which has a distribution deal with Warner Bros. The film, starring Stellan Skarsgard, Gabriel Mann and Francesca Barone, was shot in Rome and Morocco.

One production source told PAGE SIX, "[Morgan Creek] was just so excited with having a marquee name, they didn't bother with the details."

"The whole movie is done," another source said. "When Paul went to turn it in, Morgan Creek refused to give him his post-production money because they hated it. Paul had given them what was in the script - a creepy psychological thriller, with no gore.

"Morgan Creek wanted gore. They think that will sell. There were huge fights between Paul, who is more artistic, and the company, and earlier this week Paul was fired. They are planning on hiring a new director to reshoot some scenes."

The production source added: "They'll probably have the new director shoot a couple of [gory] scenes. Paul is a great filmmaker; there was just something different Morgan Creek had in mind.

Kate Beckinsale, who plays Vampire Selene in this Friday's Underworld (see interview), will battle more monsters in writer/director Stephen Sommers' Van Helsing on May 7. She stars opposite Hugh Jackman who is Bram Stoker's legendary monster hunter summoned to a distant and dangerous Eastern European land on a quest to vanquish evil. They will be battling Universal Pictures monsters like Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and the Wolf Man.

"I'm a gypsy princess who teams up with Van Helsing to try to kill Dracula," Kate says of her role. "It was really fun. I mean, it's a romp. ['Underworld'] is much more of a serious action thriller thing. But ['Van Helsing'] is more of a family adventure romp. Very sort of high romantic, it looks like Hugh (Jackman) and I are competing for the longest hair extensions."

Starring with Hugh Jackman, who is now on Broadway playing Peter Allen in "The Boy From Oz", was interesting as he was preparing for the play. "I think with Hugh there is generally a fairly bit of singing just anyway. Peter Allen or no Peter Allen, so there was a fair bit of that. But yeah he was doing this movie, doing all his things. And on the weekends tap dancing lessons. He�s amazing. He really is."

You'll soon be able to buy Kate Beckinsale toys for Van Helsing! "There's going to be all these dolls of me. I know that my child is going to do nasty voodoo on them. And I should be in a neck brace, probably, the next time you see me."

With two of these kind of films coming out, Kate is quite the gothic action chick at the moment. "I think two you can get away with. Three, and it's a fetish. So I think that's enough now." That is, until the sequel deals come around, of course.

"In Episode I, when we saw Jake Lloyd, we wondered where�s the dark side? Why isn�t this kid creepy?" recounts McCaig. "And then, in Episode II, Hayden Christensen came across as a justifiably angry teenager more than a kid who crosses over to the true dark side. Killing the Sand People... they killed his mom! I could go mad and do something like that. So, I kept waiting for the dark side to take hold. In this film, you realize, it�s more about Anakin making the wrong choices. He�s given a glorious moment by George -- I�m so happy with part of the script -- where he truly has to make a choice. In the end, I think that�s a smarter way to go than a slow transformation. It�s more tragic this way."

Tragedy follows the beautiful Amidala as well. Since Episode I, McCaig has helped develop Padm�s intricate costumes, which often serve as reflections of her political position, and where she is in her life. "What are we wearing this year in Star Wars?" smiles McCaig. "In Episode I, she was the Queen, and she was wearing disguises. I once said she should be able to slip out of the back of the costume, and you�d never know she was gone. Ironically, in this one, she�s back to wearing disguises. As well as now hiding this marriage to a Jedi, which is not allowed, she has to hide the fact that she�s going to have babies. All of the costumes had to disguise these facts."

Arnold would play Mr. Hunkee, the patriarch of a family mistakenly rerouted from another airline and put on the urban airline's maiden flight only to find they are the only white people on board.

Hollywood hunk Harrison Ford is in talks to become the voice of popular children's TV character Bob The Builder - in a film version of the animated show. The Indiana Jones star - who worked as a carpenter himself before landing a career-changing role in Star Wars - was approached by movie bosses after hailing the series as one of his favorites.
